Davidoff is a luxury cigar brand created by brand founder Zino Davidoff in Geneva, Switzerland, in the 1930s. As a young man, Davidoff traveled extensively in South America and Cuba where he immersed himself in the great tobacco-growing regions of the world before returning to Europe and taking over the tobacco shop his father, Henri Davidoff, established in Geneva after the family fled their native Ukraine to escape the pogroms of Imperial Russia. The family’s tobacco business became a place where notable Russian exiles congregated, and, eventually, world leaders, including Winston Churchill and Vladimir Lenin, shopped.

Zino Davidoff once held a monopoly over all Cuban cigars imported to Europe, and the first cigars manufactured under the Davidoff name were Cuban. Cleverly, Davidoff developed the nomenclature for Davidoff cigars based on French Bordeaux, hence the Davidoff Grand Cru series. In 1991, Zino shifted Davidoff production to the Dominican Republic due to concerns over the quality and consistency of Cuban cigars. Today, Davidoff is a formidable Dominican brand, but it is primarily marketed to affluent consumers who can afford to spend more on cigars. Discover whether Davidoff cigars are worth the price tag when you smoke the ten best Davidoff cigars from our list below.

1. Davidoff Aniversario

Davidoff Aniversario is a cornerstone blend in the Davidoff portfolio. Popular sizes like the Aniversario No. 3, Special R, Special T, and Double R deliver a soft profile of cedar, cashew, and coffee bean notes. Aniversario is blended from a mild interior of premium Dominican long-fillers cradled by a Connecticut-seed wrapper grown in Ecuador. Indulge in an original Davidoff for the perfect introduction to this exclusive brand.
