5 Hot New Cigars to Smoke on Vacation
Summer is the perfect time to beef up your cigar stash. More time for golfing, vacation, and kicking back on the beach means you should try some new cigars while you’re relaxing. Take some inspiration from us. Here are five excellent new cigars for 2026 that are worth your attention.
1. San Cristobal Golden Hour
San Cristobal Golden Hour is the newest release from this prestigious Nicaraguan brand and one of the most anticipated cigars of the summer. Named for the magical time of day when the sunset mesmerizes our gaze, Golden Hour is an unforgettable cigar to smoke on a beach, on your porch, or on a rooftop deck with a whiskey or cocktail at dusk. A reddish-brown Ecuador Habano Rosado wrapper embraces the finest Nicaraguan long-filler tobaccos harvested in Estelí, Jalapa, Namanji, and Condega. Versatile tasting notes of cedar, cinnamon, coffee bean, molasses, and spice weave a delightful profile across the palate in six gorgeous sizes. Legendary father-and-son cigarmakers Pepin and Jaime Garcia blend and produce Golden Hour at the My Father Cigars S.A. factory in Estelí.
2. La Aroma de Cuba Habano Reserve El Jefe
A highly limited batch of La Aroma de Cuba Habano Reserve cigars debuted at the end of 2025 in a classic 6-by-50 Toro called the Monarch. In 2026, the sought-after Habano Reserve blend returns in the iconic 7-by-58 El Jefe size. A reddish-brown Habano Rosado wrapper, grown in Ecuador, glistens over a mature core of premium Nicaraguan long-fillers harvested in Estelí, Jalapa, and Namanji. Refined notes of coffee bean, molasses, cream, cedar, and spice meld in a cohesive, Cubanesque smoke that produces a spectacular draw. A limited batch of 2,500 boxes is earmarked for release in the fourth quarter of 2026. However, you can preview this attractive Gordo in the new 5-cigar La Aroma de Cuba Habano Reserve El Jefe Assortment, which also includes two 92-rated La Aroma de Cuba Connecticut and two 94-rated original La Aroma de Cuba cigars.
3. My Father La Lealtad
My Father La Lealtad is the second Honduran cigar from Pepin and Jaime Garcia, following the bestselling My Father Blue in 2025. La Lealtad is handcrafted at the Garcias’ new Honduran factory nestled in their 1,000-acre Honduran estate, dubbed Finca La Opulencia. The Garcias enjoy unlimited capacity to grow, as they expand their award-winning My Father portfolio. La Lealtad delivers a medium to full-bodied profile of coffee bean, cocoa, leather, red pepper, and nutmeg, with a hint of sweetness. A chestnut-hued Rosado Oscuro wrapper, grown in Ecuador, conceals vintage Nicaraguan and Honduran long-fillers, handcrafted in four classic formats.
4. AJ Fernandez Amar
AJ Fernandez Amar is fast becoming another of AJ’s more popular blends since its debut this past spring. A Cuban-seed wrapper, grown in Nicaragua, embraces a balanced blend of Nicaraguan long-filler tobaccos harvested on AJ’s estates. A bready profile of cedar, cinnamon, nutmeg, coffee bean, and black pepper culminates in a creamy, rich profile. The blend is handcrafted in Nicaragua in four sizes. With Amar, AJ pays homage to his dual Cuban and Lebanese heritage. Amar means “to love” in Spanish, and, in Arabic, Amar means “moon.” The blend represents resilience and gratitude for the support AJ received from his peers following a 2025 fire that damaged one of his Nicaraguan cigar factories. Explore the latest addition to the AJ Fernandez franchise this summer.
5. Argyle Turf Club
The Argyle portfolio includes several popular Dominican gems blended and handcrafted for an outstanding value. Recently, the brand unveiled a stellar, upscale addition called Argyle Turf Club. A toothy San Andrés wrapper surrounds an intricate blend of Dominican, Nicaraguan, and Connecticut Broadleaf long-fillers meticulously assembled within a Dominican binder. Intriguing notes of hickory, cocoa, black pepper, and espresso bean mingle with a raisin-like sweetness throughout a succulent finish. There are five traditional sizes to consider, including a 6-by-60 Gordo for fans of a wide ring gauge. Indulge in a consistent, well-aged smoke that reflects the full potential of Argyle’s finest tobaccos with Turf Club.
