Our buddy, Rocky Patel, is a relentless stickler when it comes to perfection. The original Mulligans blend was intended for release as another world-class, nationally distributed cigar, modeled after the 95-rated Rocky Patel Decade. However, Rocky flip-flopped on what tobaccos he liked most in the final blend. Before he could make up his mind, a massive shipment of new cigars landed on his warehouse dock with no place to put them. To get out of the predicament, Rocky placed a fast and furious collect call to your pals at Holt’s. Our senior tasters smoked some samples drafted from an oily Ecuador Sumatra wrapper leaf and a luscious core of premium long-fillers. We immediately fell in love with the blend’s toasty profile of cedar, leather, and spices. As a result, we bought up the whole darn lot, and Rocky Patel Mulligans was born!
