Padilla Dominus
Boutique brand owner Ernesto Padilla created Padilla Dominus cigars over a decade ago. Dominus, which is Latin for “master,” shows Padilla’s talent for producing consistently tasteful and well-made cigars at rock-bottom prices. Value and flavor converge in a full-bodied profile of premium Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos beneath an oily Corojo wrapper leaf. Padilla Dominus is handcrafted in Honduras in a handful of popular formats. Back in the day, Padilla Dominus cigars scored 92 points in Cigar Aficionado thanks to a spicy and luscious profile of leather, dark fruit, and black pepper with a sweet and spicy finish.

Good cigar but does not have the Templar cross on the band.
01/16/2025 - Tom M. from Lexington, OKI got this cigar as part of a gift sampler pack. It's got a heavy flavor that's peppery and a bit creamy. Unlike other reviewers, I didn't have any problems keeping it lit and I didn't get any notes of cherry, but I tend to puff a lot on my cigars and don't have the best palate. All in all, I highly recommend this cigar.
09/16/2024 - Michael H. from North Aurora, ILLove my cigars like I love my women, full-bodied and earthy. This one fits the bill. Delivers lots of pepper, earth, leather, tons of tobacco flavor. The problem is getting it to deliver all of that full flavor. It needs attention, double and occasionally triple puffing(!) to keep it going. If you don't puff it every 30 to 40 seconds, the burn wobbles and needs relighting. Like with most hand-rolled cigars, they vary from each other. Some burn perfectly right down to the nub. What you do get is a mouthful of smoke that tastes delicious and flavorful as long as you're minding it's business.
09/12/2021 - Eric M. from Miami, FLIn my opinion, there are better cigars out there for the price. The box is beautiful. But it's the cigar that counts. The taste is way to earthy for me. But to each their own. I would give it a 3 plus.
08/26/2021 - Dino C. from Martinsburg, WVI consider Padilla cigars like I do Oliva cigars, don't think I have ever smoked a bad one. With that being said, I've wanted to try the Dominus ever since Holt's first started offering them. Reviews on line, by some notable folks, claim this cigar is great and I have to agree. One reviewer claimed they tasted black cherries, cedar, and spice. I can honestly say I had the same experience. About the midway point I tasted a strong black cherry, wow! The construction and burn was perfect. Very happy with my purchase, but who isn't when you do business with Holt's.
