For the binder, Nicholas III chose a special Nicaraguan Shade Grown tobacco, cultivated from a Cuban-and-Cameroon-seed hybrid tobacco. He completed the recipe with vintage Nicaraguan long-fillers and an Ecuador Connecticut wrapper aged for ten years.
